Clean Water

Today, more than ever, the world is full of people who are coming together to make a difference. My name is Rachel Kelley and I joined UKUWA because I believe every individual deserves pure water; water that does not contain bacteria and other unhealthy substances. Working together with other UKUWA members to lend a hand to people in places like Africa is just a start. Someday we hope to lend a hand all over the world.
Every day, people waste thousands of gallons of water without hesitation. It has become a daily routine. In Africa, people are digging holes, hoping to find water that will save their families from dehydration. I could not even imagine what it would be like to not have easy access to water. Those of us who are privileged and never carry that burden need to unite and make a difference.
I am sure a part of you feels remorse and wishes things could be different. You might even be thinking you are too young, or could never change anything. Maybe you believe that if you do not get involved, someone else will. I recommend that you stop wishing or thinking that someone else is going to do it for you. Join the fight for pure water. I can do it and so can you. Together, as Ukuwans, we can all make a difference.
